Pattern Baldness / Thinning Hair

It is a sad fact that there are just as many women experiencing thinning hair as there are men balding. The numbers are almost exactly the same and it is because of the same reasons. And just as there has not been a 'cure' for male pattern baldness, there is not one for women experiencing thinning. Just because it is 'comman' does not mean that it is not devastating to the woman it is happening to. And the fact that hair is so important to the way a woman presents herself to the world many feel terrible at the loss.
Basically the cause is hormonal. It is not caused by diet, or stress, or anything that is your fault. The symptoms are a gradual thinning of hair on the top, front and crown areas, just like where men bald, and some milder thinning on the back and sides. The texture of the hair becomes finer as the hair shaft becoming thinner. The hair is not as strong, and it does not grow as fast as it used to. You will notice that you can see scalp through the hair where before you could not. If there are bald patches then it is not female pattern thinning, but alopecia areata.
Dermatologists can help determine the type of hair loss more closely. The vast majority of women that do something about this condition get a hair system, not a wig. These are explained in the postiche, graduated enhancement method, and the integration system sections of the site.
